补充要求和说明:VIEWS OF PLAY: A CRITIQUE OF THE VIEWS OF PLAY IN DEVELOPING VARIOUS ASPECTS OF YOUNG CHILDRENGeneral Points1. The physical presentation is good; the work is clearly organised, you have read quite a lot and the bibliography appears to be accurate. On the whole it is well written although I was a bit confused on pages 12-13, by the references to ‘the Crown …’ 2. The title indicates that the dissertation will provide a critical examination of the views about how play can help children develop. However, the dissertation is not a critique. All it does is to describe or summarise individual writers’ views about what play can contribute to various areas of child development. Only very occasionally are these views compared or contrasted. Nowhere is the research evidence, upon which the views about the impact of play are based, of individual writers subjected to examination. Some of the information included in the summary of the individual writer’s views is not directly relevant to the declared purpose of that particular chapter. It is almost as if the importance and value of play is taken-for-granted and therefore the literature about it just needs to be reported and not questioned. There are sections setting out the limitations of what play can contribute in certain areas but these are not related to the views of particular writers and this does not constitute a critical examination of what the individual writers have said. At the end of each chapter there is a summary of what has been described in the chapter but what is needed is some attempt to draw out or synthesis, at the end of each of the chapters, the main points which seem to be supported by a critical examination of the evidence.3. From page 20 onwards there are almost no references. There are six chapters describing how play may contribute to different aspects of child development but the information is not linked to the writings of any particular individual..4. ‘Program’ should be spelt ‘programme’.More specifically,Chapter 1 I don’t understand why section 1.2.1 & section 1.2.2 have been put in Chapter 1. The rest of Chapter 1 is fine since it is serves as a rationale for the research and sets out the structure which the reader will find in the remainder of the dissertation. The Sections 1.2.1-2 should be in later chapters, perhaps mostly in Chapter 2.
